I love my cat, but ...

Yesterday night I saw Itchy licking the spout on my salt container.

Is she doing that because she can't go outside and there's sodium in the stuff she'd be eating out there? Should I start seasoning her food?

Advice, please.

  1. First of all ... yesterday night? Did NYU kill off a brain cell or something? OK, forget that. On to the salt mines: You know how you like the salty taste of yummy fried okra? Well, my online vet pal Holly Nash says it's cool if Itchy craves a little flavour (Holly seems like a Brit to me, hence the "u,") too, just so long as she drinks consistently (water, not that stuff you drink). So let her have a little flava flav! http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1400&articleid=685

  2. yeah animals need salt in ways that humans dont.. elephants have been known to trek miles and miles to mountain caves just to get the salt inside and if they cant get any, they will die.. i dont know maybe kitties need more then they get in meow mix?
