Once again, it's not from the 80's, but since we're moving, I thought it was appropriate.

My Best Advice to You ...

Things are not good right now (January is such a bad month anyway, but now we have that whole recession thing mussing it all up a bit more than usual). I know a lot of you are running around like Chicken Little screaming about the economy -- or just doing it like me, and sinking into the sofa grumbling about it with a bottle of Cutty Sark. Mmm. Crappy booze.

Hey, we all have to cut back somewhere.

Well, things are going to get better ... someday. In the mean time, I present you with the 80's Music Video of the Week. It gives me fond memories of living in Chelsea. Enjoy.

Prince vs. The Empress

Prince, the man [?] entirely deserving of the images his name conjures, was spotted at a Lakers game last weekend in some interesting footwear.

Now don't get me wrong; if given the chance, I would gladly wipe the foot sweat from between this man's toes. He is one of the greatest performers and guitartists ever, IMPO.

BUT -- his affinity for platforms and high heels has always weirded me out, and this case is no exception. Behold:

The man responsible for Raspberry Beret is wearing lucite heels. Shauna Sand's reign as the Empress of Lucite may be over if His Crushed-Velvet Majesty decides to take over that particular throne. Shauna, consider yourself warned.

He played at the Wall Street Cipriani Ballroom last week with Gladys Night while Liz and I were upstairs having drinks, and I WISH I had seen him play, but unfortunately, the $1,000 tix were not in my budg.
